My town

My building is in the center.  It is called Dae Woo My Vil 2. (That is the English equivalent).  I am on the 5th floor.
It is always easy to find home.  The two red and gray buildings can be seen for miles.  Nothing like landmark navigation.
The majority of people live in apartments here.  Land is in short supply.  With 55 million people in an area the size of Indiana you can only go UP!
Walking farther from the a-pa-tew (apartment)
E-Mart.  It is a great place to find deals.  Maybe my favorite spot to shop.
Hyundai Mall.  Expensive but has great A/C.
A funny statue across from the Hyundai mall.
The big mall.  Still walking away from the apartment.
There is a huge fake tree in the big mall 5 stories tall.  It is really cool and has all sorts of wildlife in it (fake of course).
This is the view from the overpass walking into the big mall.  You can see how many apartment complexes there are.  They just keep going and going and going and going.............
Same thing but going the other way.

These are from my 4 hour Sunday stroll yesterday.  It was cool out and the weather was perfect for taking pictures.  I headed west down past Bucheon State House, the Hyundai department store and E-mart.  I really enjoyed the day.  The hustling and bustling people around me are always fun to observe.  They definitely observe me back.  Walking around almost certainly means blank stares, giggling children and brazen teenagers who like to compliment my nose.  Seriously, my nose?  My eyes are scary because they are blue and my hair makes me an old man because it is blonde.  It makes me laugh.  I will take what I can get.

The weather is starting to turn and I am really enjoying it.  I missed fall last year because I was in California. Fall is my favorite season and I can not wait to drive through the mountains when the leaves turn.   I will have many pictures to share.

My next post is going to be a day in the life of Dean.  For those who wonder what it is like to get up and go to work in Korea you will see very soon.

Best to all,  Deano
